Credentials & how we handle certified coins

What our experience with third-party grading services looks like in practice, and the standards we hold ourselves to at the counter.

VerifyThe exact wording of any professional affiliations, dealer memberships, association logos, or licenses referenced on this page must be confirmed with the client and adjusted (or removed) before launch. Nothing below should be read as a claim of a specific membership, certification, or license until verified.

Certified material

Working with NGC, PCGS, and PMG holders

Many collections and estates include coins and currency certified by major third-party grading services. Here's how we approach them.

Reading the holder

We review certification labels from services such as NGC, PCGS, and PMG, along with population and grade information, as part of evaluating a certified coin or note.

Raw & uncertified coins

Not everything needs to be slabbed. We're equally comfortable evaluating raw, uncertified coins and explaining what grading could mean for value.

Grading experience

Years of handling coins across grades and series inform how we assess condition, eye appeal, and authenticity concerns at the counter.

Our commitments

Ethics and transparency

What we commit to

  • Explaining how we arrive at an offer or price, in plain terms.
  • Disclosing when a coin's condition, cleaning, or damage affects value.
  • Never pressuring a customer to sell or buy on the spot.
  • Being upfront when an item is outside our expertise and needs outside grading.

What we ask in return

  • Bring items as-is — please don't clean or polish coins before a visit.
  • Bring any existing paperwork, grading certificates, or purchase records if you have them.
  • Ask questions. A good evaluation should make sense to you before you decide anything.

VerifyAny specific claims about dealer association memberships, licensing, insurance, or bonding must be supplied and confirmed by the client. Do not publish specific membership badges or numbers until verified.
